Promenade ring and floating plaza
지루함을 유발하는 기나긴 탄천의 우회로를 환형의 보행로로 도시와 강의 관계를 효율적으로 재구축하여 수변공간의 연속성을 확보한다. 청담 / 잠실 / 탄천으로부터의 접근을 탄천의 합수부를 회유하는 경험으로 특수화한다. 환형 부교의 테두리는 레벨이 다른 2개의 길로 구성하여 외측의 빠른 통과와 내측의 느린 산책 및 휴게쉼터로 구성한다. 그 내부-PLATE의 중앙부에는 철제 격자망을 수면과 같은 높이로 설치하여 물 위에 서거나 눕는 등 온몸으로 한강을 체험한다. 직접적이며 원시적이기도한, 인간과 수변공간의 관계를 통해 다양한 문화 이벤트적 행위를 창출하는 도시 축제의 장을 만든다. 이렇게 재정립된 인간과 강의 관계를 통해 새로운 풍경을 만듦과 동시에 잃어버린 원초의 강과 도시의 기억을 재생하게 한다.
지난 세월 우리는 양적 개발, 치수사업이라는 근대화의 미명 아래 원래 도시가 가지고 있던 인간과 강의 친밀함을 상실했고, 그 결과 천편일률적인 제방과 고가도로, 이를 감추기라도 하는듯한 다양한 시설물로 급급히 채워갔다. 이제 우리는 다시 원점에 서서 인간과 강의 관계를 재구축해야 할 시점이다.
In the process of modernization, we have ruined the intimate relationship between human and the river which our city originally had. As a result, the interface of the city and the river was entirely covered with endlessly monotonous landscape of concrete bank and various structures to hide its ugliness.
Recovering continuity of waterfront by putting a floating ring-shaped pontoon at the confluence point where the Han river meets Tan stream, providing a special experience by circular touring from city via the river.
The ring-shaped pontoon consist of two slightly different levels of lanes. The outer one is for quick pass through and the inner one is for promenade and relaxation. On the middle part, steel grating plates are installed exactly the same level of water surface, forms a floating square which so many different kinds of activity and programs are possible. Through the re-established relationship between a man and river in this way, the new waterfront landscape of endless creative events will be unfolded to recover original memory which we have lost for a long time.
