"Beyond Finance, Embracing Life"
Layers of life elevate the urban flow,
transforming finance into a platform of connection and community.
As internet banking and AI-based fintech accelerate, traditional bank branches are rapidly disappearing. In response to this shift, NEST+ redefines the role of banking architecture by asking what spatial identity and public relevance a bank can hold today. Located in Sanggye-dong, it returns finance to the fabric of daily life, positioning the bank as a community anchor rather than a withdrawn service facility.
Interpreting the metaphor of a “nest” as an open cycle of connection, NEST+ goes beyond financial transactions to function as a platform for community interaction. Based on the values of Connection, Growth, Support, and Trust, it proposes finance as a social infrastructure that supports local cultural and economic ecosystems.
The 15-story building is organized as vertical clusters of three floors, extending everyday movement upward. The lower levels open to the street with a cultural lounge and community spaces, the middle levels host a daycare and youth programs, and the upper levels contain smart offices and banking facilities. A public F&B lounge crowns the building, unfolding toward the city. This sectional strategy creates a vertical urban landscape where living, learning, and working intersect.
The stacked concrete masses form terraces and layered gardens, expressing a sense of monolithic simplicity with civic openness. Rather than a relic of disappearing bank branches, NEST+ proposes a new architectural prototype—an urban financial platform shaped by life, community, and public trust.
