"A Walk Through Quiet Layers"
Walking through a landscape layered with trees, water, and sky,
one’s steps slow and thoughts come to rest.
A good city needs paths that invite walking—places to move at a human pace. The Path that Holds Thought offers such an experience, allowing quiet movement with moments of rest and contemplation. Along Suseong-gu’s Manbo Trail, layered scenes of water, trees, and sky unfold over Naegwanji. The new entry path naturally becomes a small community node. Extending over the water, the Dotap Bridge continues the tactile quality of the wooden trail. Shaped three-dimensionally rather than as a simple linear walkway, it creates places to sit, pause, and take in the view while softening the boundary between nature and movement.
Walking paths are meaningful when they invite lingering. When we stop, we begin to sense time—in shifting light, in water, in wind. The former intake tower, once a closed utility structure, has lost its function over time. Retaining only its frame, it is reborn as an open pavilion—transformed from a tower that collected water into a place that gathers thought. Historically, pavilions stood where mountains and rivers meet—spaces for reflection and rest. This fusion of adaptive reuse and public openness gives new cultural meaning to an industrial relic. The ceiling shimmers with reflections from the water, and the floor leads the mind into quiet depth. At dusk, soft light fills the pavilion, completing The Path that Holds Thought as a serene place to walk, pause, and meet at Naegwanji.

"A Walk Between Nature and the Built,
Everyday Life and Reflection"
Along the embankment of Naegwanji Reservoir, walkway spans the boundaries between nature and the built environment, flow and stillness, nside and outside. With open grating underfoot, the walkway appears to float, suspended from the concrete wall of the spillway. It replaces the certainty of solid ground with the experience of walking over a gap. Water flows beneath your feet, while a breeze brushes past.
More than a path, the walkway is an instrument for contemplation.

A Reservoir That Holds the Light"
Where water meets land,a path traces the boundary like a fine line. With each step, the still water shimmers beneath your feet, while light and breeze quietly pass overhead. As though walking on water, you imagine gentle ripples brushing your toes. The boundary dissolves, and the landscape becomes part of you. Listening to the breath of nature, you follow a single thread of thought through the day-from land to water, and from water to the mind.
